Memorial Day is considered the unofficial start of summer today. On this day, a parade is organized. People decorate the tombs of those soldiers with flowers. Due to the weekend of three days, some people enjoy themselves on the beach on this day and watch fireworks.
With Covid-19 cases dropping and more than half of the adults are vaccinated, there’s a renewed sense of optimism and hope in the country. People are travelling, hanging out with friends and families and attending events.
More than 37 million people are expected to travel over the holiday weekend — it is a huge boost from last year’s record low.
