Gov’t to earmark nearly HUF 4 billion for “Friends of Hungary” group

The government will regroup 3.88 billion forints (USD 18m) from its reserves for setting up and financing the operations of the Friends of Hungary Foundation, the latest issue of official gazette Magyar Kozlony said.

The cabinet decided last week to establish the US-based foundation with start-up funds of 15 million dollars to strengthen national identity and cohesion in the Hungarian diaspora.

Ownership rights in the foundation will be exercised by the Prime Minister’s Office.The complete resolution, part of which is pictured above, can be found on page 89 of this PDF version of the Wednesday gazette.
